Ian and Elsie Bremner Bin Forest Holding No3

Images courtesy of Ian Bremner, Keith

The photograph shows Ian Bremner and his mother, Elsie, in the garden of No3 Forest Worker Holding at Roadburn, Bin Forest. Behind Ian and his mother are hutches for the ferrets his father Tom used to control the rabbits damaging the young trees in the newly planted forests.

The attached PDF below the image shows a rifle permit for a BSA Majestic .222 issued to Tom Bremner in 1964 for the control of Roe deer which would be increasing in number as the trees in the planted forests grew larger and provided the ideal environment for the animals to breed and survive.

The document was issued from the East Scotland Conservancy office at 6 Queen’s Gate, Aberdeen and appears to be signed by J Cheyne for the Conservator.
