Casting snow from fences at the Bin Forest
Photograph courtesy of Ron Bowie, Huntly.
This is an image of 5 men from the local Bin Forest Squad digging snow to clear a fence at Drummie’s Hill (Drumdelgie). It was a soul destroying job as the next bit of wind would fill it all back in again. It was often an occupational job in extreme weather when it was difficult to get forest work for all the men.
The only suggested name is Jimmy Christie who has the dark hair and is in the middle third from front.

Thanks Ron! Yes my dad say's it was my Uncle Charlie. I only ever met Charlie at Roadburn when he came back to visit Scotland in 1980. He was so like my dad it was unbelievable! It was even harder to tell them apart when they were younger in the photo's I've seen.
