Bemore Forestry School students 1949 - 51 group

This group photograph taken in the Benmore locality includes most of the 1949 intake of Benmore Forester School students. Unusually this particular year there were 20 students whereas the 1948 intake only numbered 12 and Willie believes the 1950 intake was about 12 as well.

2. David Paterson (Initially trained as a photograph and set up first dark room in Forestry School)

5. Bob Thompson ( at one time in Glen Nevis)
6. John Doran (Northern Ireland student)
7. Pat Ferguson (at one time in Loch Awe)
8. Ron Hutchison (Northern Ireland student)
9. Archie Douglas (First posting to Maybe Nursery)
10. Ronnie Murray (Died in Motorcycle accident at Loch Eck when a student)
11. John MacLeod (From Rassay and one time at Sunart Forest)
12. Ian MacLennan (Left for Rhodesia in 1951)
13. Willie Cameron ( in forests of Oykel and Helmsdale)
14. David Laing (Left for Canada)
