Betty Wilson - Timber Corps

This photograph is courtesy of John Baillie, Garmouth and shows Timber Corps lady Betty Wilson from Lincoln who was one of the timber loading squad based at Edinvale Camp near Dallas and worked in Loch Loy forest.

She has sent this photograph to John Baillie aka ‘Sunshine’ who was also a loader and the youngest in the camp. As a consequence he was looked after by all the girls. The inscription she wrote can be read by clicking on the large image button below the photograph.

John remembers the names of other Timber Corps girls as Ina and Jean Murray from Dunphail, Madge Stirling from Forfar area, Minnie McKenzie and Jessie Jessiman from Dallas, Mary Thompson (Mary Thomson) from Alves, Isa and Sadie McMullan from Glasgow and Rae MacIlwraith poss from Edinburgh area.

Any more names of Timber Corps ladies who worked in these and other areas in Scotland would be very welcome.
