Assich Forest Stock Map
Maps are courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and show the forest area originally known as Assich just south of Croy but latterly part of Culloden Forest and then Culloden Forest District.
Possibly originally planted by the Forestry Commission in the 1950s this may have been the second area of Assich Forest acquisition although the compartments have been renumbered following the full survey of Culloden Forest in 1968. The numbers now run from Comp 25 up to 52 and then the extra area from the previous map with Comps 121 to 128.
Within the area there are small pockets of older trees no doubt acquired when the land was purchased and typically there is some P27 and P02 (1902) Scots pine.
Any stories of working in this forest would be very welcome.
