' This is the Forest Worker House No 2 with more detail. The small girl is my cousin from Glasgow (Elaine Swan). Taken some time about 1958?
The building back left was a store room for my father’s bikes and tools. Also inside was located the main electric switch boards for the camp. Outside is a large coal bunker, and behind my cousin was an old door into number 2, but not in use. The door being used was through a porch out of picture to her left. These huts, originally part of a work camp for unemployed men, were at this time used to house workers but had been used a few years previously by forestry students as a recreation hall, lecture room, library and offices.’
The store room mentioned was part of Building No 16 in the1957 Location Plan Record No 4078 and formerly used by the Forestry School as offices, Library and Lecture Room.
