Collection of old chainsaws

Photograph is courtesy of Alasdair Cameron, Ross-shire who took the photographs at the BA Vintage Country Fair held annually near Kintore, Aberdeenshire.

I will leave it to the expert enthusiasts to identify the various model on show and provide any details. However Jonsered or Jonsereds and McCulloch saws are present. The saws have been numbered and see large image for more detail.

The hand saw leaning against the ‘figure’ and the wood filled box is an American crosscut saw with ‘Great American’ or ‘Crown’ teeth formation separated by a small gullet. This type of saw was designed for medium to hard density wood.
