Forestry hostel men Inchnacardoch Forest
The photographs are courtesy of Mayanne Macgregor and her father Rory Macgregor who worked at the forest for two years around 1958.
Rory recalls that there were two separate accommodation hostel units at this time with around six people in each.
This outstanding photograph really shows off something of the character of the men who lived in the hostel – Rory confirms that they were indeed ‘characters’.
Kenny Macfarlane (From Lewis and rode the American railways as a young man)
Harry Coe (from England and travelled around)
Jimmy Mackenzie (Was the Horseman for the forest)
Any more details on the men and the hostel would be very welcome.
