Wooden Frame saw from about 1930

The saw is courtesy of Ian Adams of Glenbranter Forest Office who has collected a considerable amount of old forestry tools.

This lovely shaped and crafted frame designed to hold a peg tooth narrow saw blade on a horizontal plane when the frame is vertical. The real purpose of this design of saw is not so far known.

Can anyone help or have seen it used in the past?
