Benmore Forestry School students - Uig Nursery

Photograph courtesy of Jim Pratt.
The students of the 1962-64 session in Uig Nursery gaining some experience in Lining Out. Note the hessian screens to shelter the workers from the chilly winds in March, the hinged lining out boards on the ground and the tressel table where the boards were filled with seedling trees. A box of seedlings is lying under the table covered with a hessian cover to reduce moisture loss.
The students from L-R (apologies for any spelling variations) Mick Day, Andy Little, Dave Whitmarsh, Fred Wearing, Ray?Brown, Jim Davidson, Justin Smart, Harry Schneider and Brian Foggo.

Me fourth from left, Fred was my middle name. Andy Little (manic biker) worked at Alice Holt with me prior to Training School. Last met Mick Day with Pete Humphreys at my first home in the Forest of Dean. Still have this photo.
