Altsaigh slopes above A82 - Loch Ness

Photograph courtesy of Jim Pratt and photographer Graham Whistler FBIPP FRPS.
This photograph demonstrates some of the steep hillside slopes at Altsaigh that the high quality Douglas fir was growing on and which were harvested successfully by the Inchnacardoch harvesting team. Again the difficulties were very large tree size, steep ground with loose rocks and boulders, very narrow and infrequent forest roads on which to work and the alarming potential to damage the public road and vehicles with rolling rocks and large falling logs.
