View over Glenhurich Forest, Lochaber

Photographs courtesy of Walter Strzygowski (Austria) who was the technical field engineer who worked for Steyr where his role was to set up, operate and prove to Riddochs of Rothiemay that the KSK Cable crane system suited the conditions on the west of Scotland.

Here taking in the view from the high road over to Polloch forestry village from Strontian and overlooking Loch Doilet is Mr B A Johnston, Kilmallie area manager for Riddochs. Accompanying him is Werner Stumpf from Austria who was the cable crane operator and demonstrator.

The attached PDF shows a view further down beside Loch Doilet looking up into some of the Glenhurich Forest glens. Note the former forest worker holdings at Kinlochan just above the loch to the right.
