Bridge at unknown forest Inverness-shire

The images are courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and staff at their Fort Augustus office.

Can anyone identify this bridge location and the person in the photo?

A very spectacular crossing over a deep ravine with the remnants of an old wooden bridge still in place. The base for a more modern Forestry Commission bridge can just be seen at a higher level above the old bridge. The Forestry Commission bridge has been removed and in 1994 was being replaced with a new galvanised steel beam bridge on which the bridge team can be seen working in the attached PDF.

Location is above Achnashellach Station on the road over to Coulin.

Davie has named the location. Is that perhaps Ron Fraser looking over the edge? He described working on this project to me.

This photograph does not capture the depth of the gorge or the height of the work site above the public road.

Hi Liam, I don't think this is Ron but see also photo number 3292 which shows us at work on the project. There are also photos of the completed bridge on this site but I can't recall the numbers. Regards Davie..
