This was demonstrated to Benmore Forestry Students in 1964 but I cannot remember where or what this machine was called. It appears to run on small rubber tyred wheels but how many?

Any information very welcome

See picture 330 submitted by Alasdair Cameron showing a Halflinger truck at work. Almost certain that the image above is also a version of a Halflinger. Is the name a Scandanavian word for a type of small horse or pony?

Good call, Norman!
"Whatever you want your Haflinger to do, its desire to please combined with a placid temperament make the Haflinger well suited to a wide range of activities. Just look what they can do!"

I remember an FC colleague owning one of these in the 1970's. It was a fantastic little workhorse used on fencing & walling jobs. He never failed to get to work and pulled a few of us out of trouble.

Hi all, don`t know what Haflinger means, but i think they were built in Austria by the Steyr Puch engineering conglomerate, which, among other things, built HGVs which were imported to the UK in the 80s/early90s. The whole outfit may now be part of MAN or Mercedes in Europe, but i`m not certain about that.
