Loading pulp at Train Station
Photograph is courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and staff at their Fort Augustus office.
No information with this photograph which could have been part of the display in the Farigaig Forest Visitor Centre at one time. It is thought this is Crianlarich where one of the stations was converted for the loading of pulp wood from lorries onto rail wagons bound for the pulp mill at Corpach, Fort William. Can anyone confirm as the buildings do not appear as remembered?
The Hymac Loader is working its way along the train filling the wagons with three metre pulp wood as it unloads the 1966 Perthshire registered lorry FES614D. Can anyone identify the lorry type and firm? All the machinery looks very new.
Any information on the vehicle drivers and operators welcome.
