Monaughty Forest – Burgie Wood 1955

Maps are courtesy of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District.

Hand drawn map with limited information on Burgie Wood area. The acquisition area shows a significant area is managed by DOAS (Dept of Agriculture Scotland), the compartments run from 100-118 and planting commenced in 1952. Sitka spruce, Scots pine, Larch and Lodgepole pine (PC) are the main species used but no indication is given on the areas coloured in dark red unless they are existing tree crops taken over at time of acquisition.

Any details about the forest or your work in the forest are very welcome.
