Clashindarroch Forest History 1930 -1952 Part 1

I have loaded a large 40 plus page report under the PDF button. This is a long and convoluted story about the early days of species selection and ground treatment processes to establish a forest on what was thought to be difficult conditions in the 20 thousand acre Clashindarroch estate. The real problems they faced, the lack of machinery to cultivate and with no experience to fall back on the foresters had a real battle on their hands to carve out success and overcome the terrible failures that devastated some of their work. The existing high quality, very productive and attractive forest is a real testament to their hard work, tenacity and foresight.

The appendices and some more data is in Part 2 under Picture No 292 entry.
Picture Added on 16 January 2008.
