High Elevation Plot Gleneynort Skye

The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.

One of the Forest Research projects often repeated was the trial plantings of various species of trees and species mixes in plots located at a variety of high elevations in differing ground conditions around the country. This plot has obviously been overtaken by the normal forestry planting as in the area behind can be seen the new forestry ploughing.

Can anyone name the people in the plot?

Aye Norman,
Looks a bit like Graham MacBryer (Forester - Eynort) on the right, with David Robertson (Chief forester – Skye) in the middle and now I'm really guessing, Bill Mason, (Silviculturist, NRS) on the left?
My regards, Bill
