Explosives to make drain at Unknown Forest

No information or date but could be linked with a demonstration by Messers ICI to Conservator South (S) at Newcastleton Forest in 1952. Trial No 1 in the windblown area (Expt 15 P52). The explosion on hard ground with 0.5lb charges of gelignite spaced at 2.5feet over 30 yds and 1 foot deep. Drains created at depth of 3.5 – 5 feet and 6-8 feet wide with ragged edges.
