Deliveries of Wood by Road
While woodchips from Nova Scotia accounted for a large amount of the chips processed, the mill relied heavily on Scottish forests to meet demand. Inverliever Forest on Loch Awe was a major supplier to the mill, as were many other forests around Scotland. Independent Highland Hauliers could deliver up to 80 lorry loads a day to the mill. This resulted in the local authority speeding up improvements to the road infrastructure in the area. The Woodyard section, managed by Alec Pyper, would then prepare the logs for chipping.
