New JCB 820 excavator at Balnacoul workshops

Photograph courtesy of Roy McGregor, Huntly.

The brand new excavator is being commissioned at Balnacoul workshop and still has to get its FC name and number placed on its bodywork. The photographs in the attached PDF show the same machine bogged in Strathdon, working in quarry at Heights of Strathpeffer and in later years on the low loader as it finishes its FC life and head for the sale yard. The men and machines at Strathpeffer are named by Roy as JCB820 (Roy McGregor), Leibherr 711 Dozer (Doug Archibald), Case Poclain 888 (Sandy Stephen)and at the low loader are George Beaton (Foreman) and Alister Scott (Low Loader driver)
