Jock MacRae

This picture is taken above Loch Oich, to the left is the area where the Great Glen Water Park is now situated. Jock was born in Tote, Snizort, Skye, and in his youth he played shinty for Lochaber. He worked for the Forestry for 40 years after originally intending to stay only a fortnight after being made redundant from Balfour Beattie. He worked and lived in Glen Nevis, Glenlui, South Laggan and Invergarry.

very interesting picture looking right out to ben tee, although nowadays at this point where mr macrae is standing you don, t get this view as there are mature trees growing here but the steepness has not relented one bit, i am the forest ranger on this area now and my interest is not just the picture but how the surrounding landscape has changed looking from this point now even though you have to go further out to the east to look back, its also nice to know that a former lochaber player like myself slowly but surely scaled this steep but awesome view point.
