I'm looking at that bridge then to the load on that lorry and thinking will it make it across, and also the tight bend in the forest road so near to the bridge.?

Aye Leslie, that is not a tight bend for Lael, there are some much tighter bends further up the hill. Also at that time, 1974, overloading lorries was common practise. At Longart block, 20 miles down the road towards Garve the bridge into the block, of similar construction, had a weight limit of 32 tonnes gross and yet the weight tickets sometimes showed 44 tonnes gross for the lorries! Different times from today.
