Aerial Fertilising Guidance System

In this case at Ardnamurchan forest area, Glenmore, the aircraft dropped fertiliser over a 1000m long strip by 6m wide (incremental spreading).Three staff spaced along the strip had to measure out the 6m every time the aircraft passed and wave their flag for the next pass. Not the most exciting of jobs and always lots of dust and hopefully no stones! Keeping staff in line when they could not see each other and setting up a new run was always fraught as communications were rudimentary. Davy Sutherland, Sunart squad, from Bunalteachan, is wearing the new McBean breathable waterproof issue.
