DG visitation to Rumster

Donald Beaton (District Forester), a keen photographer, produced a number of photographic records of forestry in the district over a 4-5 year period and these are some of his images which were compiled into albums held by the district. Photographs are courtesy of North Highland Forest District.

Visitation to a clear fell harvesting site at Rumster. The crop is or was Lodgepole pine on deep peat. Does anyone know what the discussion was about? It is possible that the site is being mounded prior to replanting as there is a view of a boom of an excavator in the distant background.

Not all the people are clearly seen but the following can be named with help from Donald McNeill (Oban):
